Do you remember your mother saying that you should just “be yourself” and “be honest”? Well, these are our main tips for working with your US Government Agency. At the end of the day, if you pay attention to your contract terms, clarify things you do not understand with the Contracting Officer (in writing), perform to the best of your company’s ability, provide timely notifications of things you are not able to do and acceptable solutions, and be “abnormally” thorough about accuracy of your costs and invoicing — you have it made! The Government is not out there to get you! For the most part, they would like this project that you are working on to be accomplished — that is why they bid it out and award it in the first place.
